Are there other differences between the two ways of thinking?

It has been shown that operational thinking only utilizes the lower left part of the brain, because the left brain works sequentially forward. However, in order to start at a future state and work back, both the creative right brain and the rational, sequential left brain have to work in conjunction. 

The whole brain approach to problem solving can often give superior solutions.
