Transformational Leadership
The best way to
predict the future is to... ...create it!
using the Perception
Dynamics approach
Leadership is often defined in terms
of inspiring
people to work together to achieve a common vision of the future. In
an attempt to develop leadership skills, traditional approaches
often focus on the observed behaviour of well known charismatic
leaders.
However, recent published research has
clearly identified that many of the most successful
organisations are often lead by leaders who do not fit this charismatic
image or behaviour pattern. Furthermore, the most successful organisations
are often several
times more successful than the organisations lead by those
highly publicised charismatic leaders. So, in order to identify the real leadership
skills that ensure organisations are highly successful,
a completely different approach is required.
The Perception Dynamics approach
gives leaders the skill and techniques to identify and change all the
systems that are critical
to maximising the certainty that
people will be motivated to work together effectively to successfully
achieve
a common vision of the future. In the majority of cases, although
charisma is usually helpful, it is rarely critical to
success.
Perception Dynamics allows leaders to
identify the critical outcomes that are necessary to achieve overall
success, and to create powerful psychological "triple-win" contracts
with each member of their audience to ensure those critical outcomes
are achieved.
The approach gives leaders the ability
to continually be aware of the progress of any project or change,
without detracting from the motivation of their teams to achieve
success.
